E-commerce.... E- Marketing.... ÎEâ, it seems, represents everything these days. Ten years ago, few Australians could have imagined using their PCs to go shopping, smart cards to make phone calls, or logging on to check their bank accounts.

The daily positive spin on IT in Australia is a far cry from the reality in the Asian region. Last year, there were only 38 million internet users in Asia accounting for only 17% of the worldâs total. Nine out of every ten people in the region have never used a computer, let alone accessed the internet.

Bhutan recently installed its first link to the world wide web, while North Korea remains unconnected.

The distinguished panel, listed above, will draw on their vast experience to discuss the development of Information Technology in Asia and the opportunities for Australian companies to be involved.
