| Description | In May, participants from the Asialink Leaders Program will turn their focus to understanding India and its relationship with Australia. Given the recent student attacks in Melbourne, this discussion will prove timely to pause and look at our relationship with one of the fastest growing countries in the world. In Melbourne, we are lucky to have the Consul-general, Anita Nayar, who will speak about the successes and enormous potential of India, including the vast challenges it faces. Marika Vicziany, Director of the Monash Asia Institute, will speak about important themes in India’s history and culture that define and help us understand the India that exists today. Associate Professor Ramaswami Harindranath, from The University of Melbourne will be guiding the evening, and also discuss key issues facing India. |
