| Description | Beginning his writing career during the Cultural Revolution, and known especially for his stories in ‘Zhiqing’ (tales of young city educated intelligentsia sent to work in rural areas), Ye Xin is one of the most prolific writers in China. He has published over 50 works, including Idle Away Time, The Debt of Sin and Family Education. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the Chinese Writers’ Association and as the Director of the Institute of Literature at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. Join us for an in-depth discussion with Ye Xin on contemporary Chinese literature, writing, publishing and living through the Cultural Revolution. The seminar will be delivered in Mandarin.
