| Description | In light of the recent Defence White Paper, which outlines Australia’s boost to military spending, it is an imperative to know and understand the directions that China is headed in. Is China truly the security threat that it is perceived to be? Will its increasing military strength become a de-stabilizing force in the region? Join us for a private roundtable with Prof Zhu Feng, a leading expert on Chinese security issues. Prof Zhu is the Deputy Director of the School of International Studies at the Centre for International & Strategic Studies, Peking University. He is also a visiting scholar to Washington’s Centre for Strategic and International Studies in and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has written extensively on non-proliferation, missile defense, regional security in East Asia, strategic dimensions of Sino-US relations, North Korean issues and US national security strategies.
