HONG KONG: Luncheon with Prof KC Chan, Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury
How is Hong Kong grappling with the current Global Financial Crisis? And how are investors protected in these tumultuous times? Westpac and Asialink invite you to a luncheon with Prof KC Chan to explore these questions. Prof Chan is the Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury, responsible for monitoring the regulatory regime to attract business and investment, exercising policy in areas of taxation and managing the assets of the Hong Kong government.

Formerly the Dean of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and professor at Ohio State University, USA, Prof Chan specialised in assets pricing, evaluation of trading strategies and market efficiency.

His roles outside academia and government in Hong Kong included Chairman of the Consumer Council; director of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange; the Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee as well as extending regionally as the former President of the Asian Finance Association.
