Lecture: Free Trade Agreements and the Future of Regionalism with Professor Ross Garnaut

Prime Minister John Howard is expected to visit China next month to mark the start of official talks on the possibility of a China-Australia Free Trade Agreement.

Join Professor Ross Garnaut, Australia's foremost authority on China and economics, as he discusses free trade agreements with the U.S. and China, the future of regionalism, and how Australia can best negotiate its interests with China.

Professor Garnaut is a Professor of Economics at the Australian National University and Chairman of the China Economy and Business Program. He was Ambassador to China and a senior economics adviser to the Hawke Government.

When: Tuesday 22 March 2005
Time: 6.30pm - 8pm
Where: Basement Theatre, Sidney Myer Asia Centre, The University of Melbourne (corner of Swanston Street and Monash Road)
