Indonesia's Minister of Trade - Dr Mari Pangestu

How different really is Indonesia under President Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono? Is it safe to invest? Dr Mari Pangestu is Indonesia's Minister of Trade, and is also the first female Chinese-Indonesian Minister in the modern history of Indonesia. She joins Asialink for a discussion of the state of Indonesia's trade prospects.

Dr Pangestu has 20 years' experience researching national and international trade issues, and has written extensively on banking, finance and macroeconomic issues. She received her Bachelor and Master of Economics at the Australian National University and her PhD in Economics from the University of California.

This event is presented by Asialink and the Melbourne Institute of Asian Languages and Societies.
