Asialink Board, Council, Patrons and 150 specially invited guests farewelled Mr Carrillo Gantner AO at the annual Asialink Chairman’s Dinner in Melbourne. The evening, hosted by ANZ Bank, was an enormous success and celebrated Mr Gantner’s 14 years as Chairman of Asialink.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Federal Foreign Minister Mr. Alexander Downer MP, speaking on Australia’s Engagement with Asia.
The evening saw several key announcements. The first was the renaming of the Basement Lecture Theatre in the Sidney Myer Asia Centre to the “Carrillo Gantner Lecture Theatre”. The second was that Mr. Gantner would be joining the Patrons of Asialink and finally, that the Asialink Board will now be led by Chairman, Sid Myer, and Deputy Chairmen, Philip Flood AO and Peter Yates.
