'Big Mum' in Cambodia: Australia's Geraldine Cox's Support of Cambodian Orphans

Monday, 26 June 2006

On a cold Melbourne Winter's night a capacity audience came out to hear Australian Geraldine Cox talk about her life and work setting up orphanages in Cambodia.

Geraldine Cox AM, the live-in 'Big Mum' of the Sunrise Orphanage in Cambodia, took everyone on a journey through events in her life that eventually led her to her working and living with Cambodia orphans.

Her fight to save the orphanage is documented in the Peter Ustinov narrated My Khmer Heart, winner of Best Documentary at the Hollywood Film Festival. The Asialink audience were informed that Hollywood has optioned her book.
