Public=UN+Public, A Major Asialink Arts Event

15 to 19 February 2006

Melbourne choreographer Jo Lloyd brought her newest work Public=UN+Public to Melbourne in February as part of the Asialink "Neon Rising" program.

Arising out of collaboration with Japanese multimedia company Nibroll, the performance featured dynamic choreography supported by stunning projections developed by Keisuke Takahashi, whose work was seen in Australia for the first time.

Jo Lloyd and Nibroll's director, Mikuni Yanaihara (pictured), performed to music by composer Duane Morrison. The performances were at Chunky Move Studios, Melbourne.

Public=Un=Public is a "Neon Rising" project, an Asialink Japan Dance initiative supported by the Australia Council and Arts Victoria. This program aims to foster long-term networks, exchanges and partnerships between Australian and Japanese artists, and will culminate in 2006 'the Year of Exchange' between the Australian and Japanese governments.
