Associate Professor Masaki Taniguchi provided an expert insight into the Japanese electoral system and an analysis of how the political environment will or won't change in response to Prime Minister Koizumi's reforms and imminent departure from office.
Asialink hosted this event with the Consulate-General of Japan, Melbourne, as part of the year-long celebration of the 2006 Australia-Japan Year of Exchange. As a fitting complement, six spectacular bonsai trees from Melbourne's Northwest Bonsai Group were on display in celebration of Japan's continuing influence on Australia.
