Five Australian artists, from Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth, travelled to India in September l996 undertaking month long residencies working with a partnered Indian colleague in New Delhi, Mumbai, Madras, Calcutta and Bangalore, and preparing an exhibition in each city as part of the Australia India New Horizons promotion. Reciprocal residencies and exhibitions took place with the same paired artists in Australia in 1997.
