Writing Program
The Asialink Writing Program connects Australian writers, readers and publishers with their counterparts in Asia. We run immersive in-country residencies, high-profile author tours, collaborative cross-media projects, produce engaging books, and organise national and international public events. You’ll find us everywhere from the lawn stage at the Jaipur Literature Festival to the back alleys of Seoul, collaborating with everyone from writers and publishers to designers and architects

Strange Flowers is a new book from the Asialink Writing Program, telling the personal stories of nine writers and artists working between Australia and China. Strange Flowers offers diverse perspectives on two creative cultures. It takes us into the cities of modern China, into the Australian studios and homes of creative people, and sheds light on the daily acts needed to bridge languages, cultures and generations. In English and Mandarin, edited by Ronnie Scott, and featuring new work from Alice Pung, Benjamin Law, Ouyang Yu, Melody Willis, Michael Yuen, Ivor Indyk, James Stuart, Zhao Chuan and Li Yao.
