Why the Asialink Leaders Program?

Globalisation means that dealing with Asia is no longer an exotic option for Australian government, corporate and non-government organisations. Globalisation does not however automatically lead to homogeneity and harmonious relations with our neighbours. Deep cultural chasms and contradictions can challenge Australia's future engagement and position in its region.

Program Objectives

Operating for over ten years, Asialink Leaders Program is producing a regional network of emerging leaders from the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors with the skills to exercise vision in a challenging regional and global context.

The Asialink Program graduates have:

  • Well-developed frameworks and skills for operating comfortably and successfully across cultures and geographical borders
  • Up to date information on the key issues affecting regional growth and prosperity and Australia's bi-lateral and multilateral regional relationships
  • Understanding of the matrix of sectors, interests and industries operating in our region
  • High-level cross sectoral networks
  • A leadership style founded on mutual respect and decision-making informed by leading academic research.

Projects

The Projects provide participants with the opportunity to initially explore an issue or problem of interest that is related to the issues of leadership and Asia within the context of work or other personal sphere of influence. The Aims:

  • To take the program messages to a broader audience
