Born in Germany and living in Australia for the last ten years, Andrea combines a theoretical background with a diverse practical expertise.

Having studied philosophy, she chose the arts as the most intriguing forum to raise and discuss mankind’s concerns. Experienced in the areas of Literature, Visual Arts, Film and intercultural encounters she pursues the notion of an integrated cultural agenda.

With a strong interest in everyday life and an appreciation for the concept of ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ her work practice is devoted to creating alternative spaces – mentally and physically.

Prior to managing the City of Melbourne’s Public Art Program she was Exhibitions Manager at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image), Executive Officer -Visual Arts Program at the 1998 and 2000 Adelaide Festivals and has enjoyed a long standing involvement with the Berlin International Film Festival.
