Mr Mathew Dipnall

Mr Mathew Dipnall

Director
CogNETive Pty Ltd

Mathew is a Director of CogNETive, a full service market and social research company that specializes in using the internet, particularly across the banking, finance and health sectors.

An Industrial Engineer by training, Mathew previously worked as an employee and consultant across a broad range of organisations and industries including automotive at Nissan, retail and logistics at Woolworths, TCF at Koala Shoes and electronics at Ericsson. He performed productivit oriented tasks ranging from workstudy within production environments, implementations of Just In Time and Total Quality Management, through to project management of the design, manufacture and commissioning of large scale Pharmaceutical Finishing Lines.

As a consulting engineer Mathew took an interest in innovation, particularly where it originated from the factory floor, from those who were best placed to conceive improvements to products and processes. On some days he could be surrounded by a sea of women on sewing machines and the next find himself within a modern day call centre.

For much of the nineties he led an Asian focused venture based on a novel Australian technology that reduced eyestrain (asthenopia) and shortsightedness (myopia) amongst users of screen based equipment. It was through this that he learned a great deal about the process of innovation commercialization and of course it remains a work in progress. In this vein Mathew regularly attends the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University as a guest panelist judge to the MBA courses.

A level 2 coach and former national sporting representative, Mathew remains fervently interested in innovation comercialisation and an outward looking Australia. Married with 2 children his interests include, family, camping, nanotechnology, hockey and karting.
