Ms Sin May Leong

HR Planning Manager
Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd

Sin May was born in West Malaysia and grew up on the idyllic “hippie” island of Penang, a former British Straits Settlement. An undergraduate scholarship opportunity in Singapore took her south of the Malayan border in pursuit of her love for literature, linguistics and educational studies. Thirteen years and four career stints later, her wanderlust took her further south of the Equator to Melbourne to pursue post-graduate Educational Studies in Melbourne Uni.

After her brief academic sojourn, Sin May was propelled back into the diverse Asian corporate canvass working on numerous organisational development initiatives in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan - within the retail, airline and banking sectors.  She has since returned to live permanently in Melbourne so that her little daughter may experience the freedom and beauty of this country. Her continual passion in organisation development is fuelled by her start-up experience with Jetstar Airways since 2004.  She hopes to influence an increased awareness of Asian cultures within the Australian corporate world so that this diversity may be reflected  in human resource practices across business borders and countries.

Sin May has a passion for exotic cuisine, theatre and foreign films, and enjoys a caf-latte with friends and colleagues whenever she can.
