Ben currently works at the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) as a Senior Export Adviser, assisting Sydney companies who have never exported before enter overseas markets.
His interest in working with the region goes back to 1993, when he moved to Jakarta for 6 years to work first as a foreign investment consultant at Indonesian law firm Gani Djemat & Partners and part time coordinator of South Australian trade missions; and then as the operations manager of a small JV specialising in golf course construction. The experience allowed Ben to travel across South East Asia and exposed him to the many fascinating aspects of living and working in the region.
Upon his return to Australia in 1999, Ben worked in international sales at Sydney company Macnaught and successfully completed his MCom in International Business from the University of New South Wales, before joining Austrade in 2004.
