Catherine is a NSW Police Officer with 25 years experience in policing with a complimentary tertiary and practical education and training background. Her current role is as the Staff Officer to the Assistant Commissioner commanding the Operational Communications and Information Command. Catherine has had a diverse career from general duties to crime scene examiner to corporate administration and management. She was promoted to her present rank of Inspector as the Commander of the Intelligence Unit within the Professional Standards Command. In this role, Catherine undertook leadership of a number of corporate projects as well as managing a joint project with the Police Integrity Commission and NSW Ombudsman on the development of a model for an early intervention system to assist in the risk management of police officer behaviour.
Catherine sees the opportunity to encourage closer ties with the multicultural community of NSW through contact with the Police Assistance Line which forms part of her current Command. PAL manages Triple Zero (000) emergency calls, 131444 for non-urgent reporting of crime and Crime Stoppers which is a 24/7 point of contact for members of the community to provide information anonymously regarding crime and criminal activity.
Catherine is an avid reader who enjoys novels steeped in both Asian history and contemporary life, in particular, those with a Japanese backdrop.
