Dean is a career banker having started work with ASB Bank in New Zealand (owned by Commonwealth Bank), studying part time in Banking and Finance before moving to the UK for 18 months to undertake an MBA.  His experience is predominately retail banking, although this also includes Credit Risk, Business Banking and Contact Centres. Dean moved to Sydney in late 2000 taking up a role with Commonwealth Bank in Mortgage Products, particularly involved with customer service improvement projects across many areas of the retail bank.
 
In March 2006 Dean moved to International Financial Services the division within Commonwealth Bank where the offshore subsidiaries report to, including Asian businesses located in Vietnam, Indonesian, India, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Dean's role involves the management of a contact centre located in Parramatta assisting migrants coming to Australia to set up accounts with Commonwealth Bank prior to their arrival. Much of this business involves dealing with clients, banks and referral sources located in Asia, with this growing business from the Asian region and the Bank's investment there, means the Asian Link programme and networking opportunities provides Dean with excellent personal development and potential future opportunities.
 
Other interests outside of work and an interest in Asia include running, mountain biking, motor sport and relaxing at our beach house.
