Michelle Phillips works in Government Affairs at Optus, a member of the SingTel Group and Australia's second largest telecommunications provider. Michelle has previously held policy advisory positions at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and with Members and Senators of Federal Parliament. In 2007, Michelle was selected as a participant in a political and cultural exchange to Malaysia under the Australia Malaysia Institute's Young Leaders Program. She holds graduate qualifications in business and has an Honours degree in Political Science from the Australian National University. In 1998, Michelle co-authored the publication 'Changing Australia - social and economic trends shaping the nation' with the Hon Kevin Andrews MP. Michelle is an avid pianist and enjoys attending theatre, dance and orchestral performances. Michelle is keen to understand more about Australia's diverse engagement with its Asian neighbours in the context of our trade, investment and foreign policy relationships.
