Andrew is a paediatrician who has specialised in adolescent medicine since 2001. Originally from Adelaide he has moved around a lot since completing his undergraduate and intern year there in 1993. Initially Brisbane to train in paediatrics completing the last 2 years of this in Northern England on exchange. Then to Sydney to work at the adolescent medicine unit at Westmead hospital. His final move was to Melbourne in 2005 to take up the new position of clinical leader at the centre for adolescent health.
Through the centre and the RCH he has supervised the training of doctors from Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam and has also presented at a joint Australian/Vietnam medical conference in 2006. He is very interested in helping any region in SE Asia to expand adolescent medical services. His clinical interests include eating disorders, behavioural problems and drug and alcohol services as well as policy development particularly for marginalised groups such as incarcerated adolescents in the juvenile justice system.
Married to Julie with two daughters, Eliza and Alex, the moving is over for a while as the kds are starting school but future moves and adventure are far from ruled out for good!
