Arthur Ha

Mr Arthur Ha

Principal Economist
Victorian Department of Primary Industries

Arthur was born in Melbourne to Chinese parents and has had the good fortune to experience growing up in both Australian and Chinese cultures. This means he understands (and enjoys) the obsession of both cultures: sport (Australia) and food (Chinese). As a Melburnian, Arthur is an avid follower of Aussie rules and also knows which laneways to go down to find a good Chinese restaurant.

Currently, Arthur is employed by the Victorian Department of Primary Industries as an economist. His work involves advising the Victorian government on the economics of primary industries and environmental policies. From his work, he has a good understanding of issues dear to Australians such as agriculture, water, the environment and the climate.

Arthur is also an active member in the Chinese community. He is currently the Secretary for the Elderly Chinese Home, a non-profit aged care facility established for the Chinese community. He welcomes any offers of charity on behalf of the Elderly Chinese Home.
