Chilean born Melbourne arts producer, Magdalena Moreno has been responsible for the overall management of the South Project since 2004 while at Craft Victoria, including its transition to becoming an independent Incorporated Association in January 2008. The program delivery has included major projects in Melbourne, Wellington, Santiago and Johannesburg, with Yogyakarta next on the agenda. Previously she served as Gallery Manager at the Victorian College of the Arts , the University of Melbourne. She has presented at several local and international symposia on themes relating to networks, cross cultural arts projects & partnerships, and public art in Latin America and the south, including the World Cultural Summit, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (November 2006).

Trained as a visual artist, Magdalena moved into arts management and facilitation after an ethics research fellowship in Paris, based at the International Council of Museums (ICOM - UNESCO) and was the recipient of the 1999 Keith and Elisabeth Murdoch Fellowship. As the daughter of a career diplomat, her interests in cross cultural dialogue and collaborations were borne at a very young age.  

She currently sits on the Public Art Advisory Committee for the City of Melbourne, is a panel member for Arts Victoria (Arts Development, Presentation) and is a member of the consultative team for  Network of International Foundations and Cultural Networks (established in 2006 in Brazil).
