Lyndal is the Sub-Dean International for the Faculties of Health at the University of Sydney, a general practitioner & clinical epidemiologist. She leads a newly formed team in developing international health collaborations, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Her particular interest in this role is curriculum internationalisation and working with Asia-Pacific partners to build capacity in the regional health workforce.

She has 25 years experience in clinical practice & was the founder of the outreach health service at the Exodus Foundation soup kitchen in Sydney's inner west. She commenced her academic career approximately ten years ago & her research program focuses on evidence-based decision-making with grants from the NSW Cancer Council, NHMRC, Foundation for Medical Decision-Making and NSW Cancer Institute. 2008 sees the launch of a book to teach evidence-based practice to consumers entitled 'Smart Health Choices- Making sense of health advice'. She chairs the RACGP Ethics Committee and is a member of the NSWCC and NSWCI Ethics committees. She has published over 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, several book chapters and writes regularly for the medical press.
