Carin Mistry has a background in the performing arts, film and television. Since moving from the UK 12 years ago, she has worked in a range of program and policy development roles for the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body. For three years Carin was the senior project manager for a range of major initiatives developed to help fulfil the objectives of the Australia Council’s Arts in a Multicultural Australia policy and for a further three years worked in a senior arts policy and research role during which time she developed the Australia Council’s Young People and the Arts policy. Recently Carin worked as Client Manager for the Dance and Theatre Key Organisations before moving to the role of Director, Dance. Just before moving to Australia Carin worked in financial roles in film and television production. Prior to that Carin worked for many years in general management in performing arts and in producing roles with new theatre writing companies including the Bush Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre.
