Mary-Lou Dixon has worked in the management of parks and natural areas for over 20 years. In her present role in Parks Victoria she manages programs which actively engage person from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to both participate and volunteer in parks. She develops programs which engage the community to get active in nature and promotes the concept of Healthy Parks Healthy People. Programs incorporate partnerships across a number of sectors and seek opportunities for including arts in nature. Mary-Lou is interested in exploring links between nature and the community and growing these links throughout Asia. She lives in rural Victoria and is interested in further improving understanding in rural communities about Australia’s opportunities with Asia.

Mary-Lou has worked for Parks Victoria for over 13 years in a range of roles. She has a Bachelor in Environmental Horticulture and postgraduate qualifications in Ecology (USA) and Heritage and Environmental interpretation. She is also manages relationships with Korean National resource management organisations and works with a number of delegations from parks and environmental organisations from across the world.
