Dr Joseph Ibrahim holds the position of Clinical Service Director for Aged Care at The Williamstown Hospital, Western Health.
Joseph's principal area of expertise is the assessment of the quality of clinical care and the development of performance indicators and has undertaken a range of projects for Federal and State Health Department regarding healthcare quality and safety.
He established the Health Services Research Unit at the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine in 1999 and developed undergraduate and postgraduate education units in quality of care and patient safety. Joseph's international experience includes a World Bank Project developing a system for hospital accreditation in Lebanon and co-ordinating courses for Health Care Quality in Indonesia.
Joseph is a member of the Board of Censors for the Australian Association for Quality in Health Care and the regional editor for the International Journal for Quality in Health Care.
