With a background in Asian Studies and Development Studies I have recently completed my PhD in the Division of Geography at the University of Sydney. My research examined dilemmas of transition in Vietnam as the country moves from a command economy to a socialist market economy. I have taught courses on Modern Vietnam at Deakin University and recently lectured in Asia-Pacific Development at Sydney University. .My interest and experience with the Asia-Pacific region is varied but passionate. I have lived and worked in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan occupying myself with many activities ranging from group leader then researcher in Vietnam to promoting Indian Pythons at the Kuala Lumpur Zoo!
