Chee Kheong grew up in the charming historic town of Malacca in Malaysia. His pursuit of tertiary education brought him to Singapore where he also commenced his career in the accounting profession after graduating in 1993. When the opportunity came for a two year secondment to Melbourne, Chee Kheong seized it, excited at the prospect of broadening his horizon. It was a decision that he did not regret - he took the first flight in his adult life in June 1994, heading Down Under to start what turned out to be a rewarding two year journey of self-discovery and learning...
Over the 2,500 days that followed the end of his Melbourne stint:
- Chee Kheong returned to Singapore to continue on track with his career, grateful of the opportunities to travel to various cities and countries in the region due to work commitments
- Chee Kheong even managed to have a "detour" from the accounting profession at the peak of the technology bubble - he was with a dotcom start-up for a brief 10 months in 2000
