Jon is a 41 year old father of three who has been working in a variety of fields as an Occupational therapist for the past 16 years. Over the past ten years he has worked in the fields of mental health and Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation.
Jon's interest in Asian awareness arises mainly from his work where he sees a number of isolated and stigmatised Asian mental health service consumers. His interest in developing countries was fuelled by extensive travel in South America and this interest translates to the Asian situation.
Jon has a master's degree in Creative Arts therapy and uses the arts as a basis for therapeutic interventions in his work with patients.
Jon has also been continually involved in performance since leaving school and frequently worked as a street performer as a mime. Through this he has seen the delight and unity that comes when we transcend the language barrier.
