Dr Sianna Panagiotopoulos
Research Fellow and Laboratory Manager
The University of Melbourne
Sianna Panagiotopoulos has over 20 years of medical research experience at the University of Melbourne (Austin Health Campus). Her research projects focus on novel intervention strategies that may prevent diabetic kidney disease. She also manages the Austin Hospital Medical Research Foundation. Sianna is the current President of the Australasian Research Management Society. In 2004, she will work towards developing linkages, widening networks and creating new opportunities for Researchers and Research Managers in Australia and Asia.
Sianna is a bona fide CAE course "junkie", having enjoyed travel photography, Spanish for beginners and wonton cooking classes. She is a volunteer Vision Australia Audio-describer for vision impaired theatre goers attending performances of the Melbourne Theatre Company. In her spare time, she revels in planning holidays to destinations off the beaten track and wishes she had shares in Lonely Planet Publications.
