The Diplomat

David was born and raised in Sydney. He flourished in primary school but flailed through high school until abandoning it in Year 11.

For the next several years David worked in various "blue collar" jobs before heading overseas for 5 years as a Ski Instructor.

At 25 he returned to Australia and enrolled in an Arts degree at ANU as a mature aged student. Some 4 years later David moved to Sydney University to begin a PhD in English Literature. However, the rigours of post-graduate research soon drove him mad. He was immensely frustrated by the withdrawal of the universities from public debate (driven by a combination of esoteric theory and funding pressures).
In an attempt remedy this situation David co-founded The Diplomat magazine in 2001. Much to his surprise it has grown ever since and now pays salaries for three people..
