Kelly Gellatly is Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria and works across both The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia at Federation Square and NGV International on St Kilda Road. Kelly is responsible for producing exhibitions and publications on contemporary Australian and International art as well as developing the Gallery's collections of Australian and International art produced post-1980. Since arriving at the Gallery 18 months ago Kelly has worked on a number of major exhibitions including, 2004: Australian culture now and world rush_4 artists. She is currently part of a team involved in the development of a large collaborative exhibition between the NGV and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) that will coincide with the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in February 2006.

Prior to working at the NGV, Kelly was Curator at Heide Museum of Modern Art where she developed a program of modern and contemporary exhibitions including, Leave no space for yearning: The art of Joy Hester, Stripperama - Richard Larter and Close to the bone: Linde Ivimey Sculpture.  Before taking up the position at Heide she worked at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra as the Curator of Australian Photography. Kelly started her career in art museums in the Photography Department at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1995. She has completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies at Deakin University.
