Kyla-Jane Hunt is the Special Projects Coordinator and Fair Gambling Coordinator at Urban Seed. Kyla-Jane joined Urban Seed in 2002 to work with former Executive Director Tim Costello on this issue of Fair Gambling. Her work on fair gambling advocacy includes coordinating the group Community Action on Pokie Problems (CAPP) with the aim of achieving meaningful reforms and a more responsible gaming industry in Victoria. As Special Projects Coordinator, she is responsible for fundraising and supporter relationship development, event management and media/communication activities.
Before Urban Seed, Kyla-Jane self-published the book, touring exhibition and educational CDROM One Hundred to One: An Australian Journey. Created in 2001 to celebrate the Centenary of Federation, it featured life stories and photographs of one hundred Australians - one born in every year from 1901-2000. The exhibition was visited by over 40,000 and the project was the runner up in the Centre for Australian Cultural Studies Awards 2001 which was won by the National Museum of Australia. Trained as a professional photographer, Kyla-Jane graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1997 with a Bachelor of Creative Arts.
