I have worked at very senior HR levels including the Board level. My experience has spanned:

  • Several major sectors including; Finance, Fast Moving -Consumer Goods (FMCG), Service, and Manufacturing
  • Global HR operations from Japan, the UK and Sweden

I am National Human Resources Manager of IAG Personal Insurance Manufacturing, and have been with the group for over 4 years. In particular I have been heavily involved in strategic and business planing, change management, people coaching and development, and all aspects of governance.

The Asialink program is hugely exciting to me as I have a deep interest in the region and have travelled extensively throughout Asia. I am presently enrolled in a basic Mandarin program.

National HR Manager Insurance Australia Group - Personal Insurance Division. May 2001 – present

I have complete carriage of the HR operations of the Personal Insurance Division and Insurance Manufacturers of Australia (an IAG RACV joint venture). I report to the CEO of IMA who reports to the Chairman James Strong. I attend all Board meetings. I have overseen the people and cultural aspects of integrating several acquisitions including the Australian and New Zealand operations of Commercial General Union (Aviva), New Zealand Insurance (NZI) and prior to this the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria’s insurance operations.

General Manager HR Spotless Services (SSL) Jan 1999 to May 2001:
Spotless Services Limited (SSL) is a combined facilities service operation employing some 36,000 people. Our customer base was Defence and Government sites, and the mining sector.

HR Director Tetra Pak Australia (secondary responsibility for HR Asia Pacific Region). July 1997 to Jan 1999

I was accountable for some 2,000 staff operating in a factory, sales & marketing, and technical support operation; I also provided HR support for the wider Asia Pacific region. We produced liquid food packaging products and technical equipment for the industry (Alfa Laval). I was a member of a global team established for the introduction of SAP, participated in the global roll out of expat conditions and ethics, and was utilized as required in our other nation operations.

General Manager HR and Support Services Mitsubishi Electric Australia (MELCO). Jan 1995 to June 1997

MELCO had acquired AWA Thorn in 1989 and operated in both the high volume, low cost Brown Goods market, and high cost, low volume scientific market. Activities ranged from sale and construction of VCR's and Mobile Phones, to the sale and export of Satellites, Semi Conductors and trains. I was responsible for all aspects of HR and General support for 900 employees.

HR Director Group 4 Security (G4). Mar 1993 - Dec 1994

G4 is the world's largest private security company employing some 120,000 globally. We acquired the security division of TNT, and had the task of converting a price differentiated, old world Australian company, into a quality differentiated Services Company. My task was to develop a staff culture that gave the company the capability to demonstrate real difference in the staff we provided to our customers.
