Chris Bayley grew up in Canberra and moved to Sydney as soon as he could, which was 1995. His first job after finishing a BA with Honours in English Literature in 1998 was as a media advisor to a Federal Senator. After providing the level of advice one could expect from a 22 year old political and media novice who had just finished four years studying literature written in the English language since 1500 AD, he went to Ozemail and then to Austar where he worked in their online content and e-commerce teams.

After some traveling abroad in 2001/2 he returned to Parliament House in Canberra where he worked as a political reporter for a media agency. Missing the late mornings of university life, he decided to return to the University of Technology Sydney where he had previously completed graduate studies in e-Business Management back when e-anything was cool. His new Masters of Business Administration (MBA) course gave Chris the opportunity to study on scholarship in the Champagne region of France in 2003 and travel Europe and Thailand on a toxic orange coloured 10 speed. After returning in 2004 Chris accepted a role in the Australian office of Google.

Officially titled a Creative Maximiser, Chris is considered special by his friends. In practice his is an online marketing role where he works with existing clients to maximise returns for their online advertising campaigns. He is also involved in several Google projects including Google Grants, a service that offers free advertising to non-profits. His main interests include e-business & technology, outdoor activities, golf and Rugby. In 2005 he hopes to take part in workshops in Cambodia teaching people how to use the Internet and search engines.
