Farah Magrabi was born in India and lived in Saudi Arabia, India and New Zealand before migrating to Australia. Farah is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Informatics, University of New South Wales. She received her bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Hons 1) from the University of Auckland in 1997 and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of NSW in 2003. Her research interests include the design of health informatics interventions to support clinical decision-making.
Farah aspires to bring about an increased awareness about the diverse cultures within Australian society so that this diversity is adequately reflected in policy making at all levels. She is particularly interested in national health policy in relation to the appropriate and intelligent use of information and communication technologies to bring about improvements in health service delivery and improved equity within the health system.
