Mr George Catsi

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

George has had three career streams running through his life: health, education and the arts. Often intersecting occasionally integrating. Currently, have the pleasure of establishing a health, well being and lifestyle TV channel at RPA Hospital (Royal Prince Alfred) in Sydney (Yes the RPA as seen on Channel 9). A great opportunity to create something that is for a diverse, yet captive audience, that will hopefully make a difference to how people see the integration of health and lifestyle.

After school studied nursing for reasons I am still not clear on but glad I did. Gave me an opportunity to meet and relate to people from all cultural and social backgrounds. Nursing became a means to pursue my other ideas and passions, primarily the arts. After a Degree in theatre and film have worked in many areas of both, culminating in a Masters in Media from UTS.

Have spent 3 years performing, directing and writing original material in a satirical, musical comedy group. Toured nationally. Acted in lots of theatre and film productions. Explored directing and writing. For 4 years was co-owner/producer of the Flickerfest International Short Film Festival where I was immersed in international forms of storytelling and visual style. Also learnt about business. Successfully built the festival to be Australia's premier short film festival with an international reputation. Currently, consulting in trends in digital cinema to a business group raising equity for an international film exhibition business, seeking to establish in Asia.

My educational background includes clinical nursing streams at Sydney University; 10 years teaching drama as form of creative self-expression/presentation/ improvisation to people who don't want to be actors including long-term unemployed.
