Nick is a business development manager with GBST, where he has been for the past 5 years. Nick’s role requires him to assess new business opportunities and product initiatives both in Australia and in Asia. Shortly before joining GBST Nick worked in London for a range of investment banks in contract accounting roles. He is happy to say that the only vestige of his accounting days is a continuing love of financials and numbers.
Travel is a large part of his job and like a good foreign beer, should be enjoyed in moderation. Having a young family does make life difficult when travel is involved and consequently Nick now knows the best places to buy imitation perfume and toys in most major cities in the region.
Nick’s job requires him to know financial markets back to front, both in Australia and regionally, and to be cognisant of the technology that drives financial markets. This knowledge has been used in Hong Kong and Singapore in assisting in sales opportunities to Foreign Banks and in assessing new business opportunities with overseas companies.
Nick enjoys cooking (especially Thai), reading and enjoying time with family.
