Con has been an employee of the MFB for 24 years in that time he has worked in varying areas such as Operations Management, Health and Safety and Employee Support Programs. The MFB's Employees Support Program is an on call service that is offered to both firefighters and their families, the programs core role is to respond to firefighters that have been exposed to trauma in the course of duty, Con still remains a member of this team, whilst being coordinator of the program for 9 years through to 2003

The current role that is held is the CALD component of the MFB's Equity & Diversity, the role involves creating and building strategic partnerships with local government authorities, government organisations and the new and emerging communities within the MFB region and nationally. The role extends to maintaining partnership with Melbourne's established ethnic communities for both seniors and youth.

In addition:

- Secretary on the committee of management for the Southern Ethnic Advisory &Advocacy Council
- Board Director 2000- 2005 (chairperson 2004/5) of the Firefighters Credit Union.
- Working with children living with cancer through the Royal Children's Hospital "Bluey day" appeal.
- Working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse groups, in setting up support / volunteer support services.
- Acting as a mentor to children with Australian / Greek backgrounds.
- Facilitator of a pilot program aimed at providing support / volunteer support services throughout the elderly Greek community of Melbourne.
- Formal qualifications in Community Services Management
- Interest are, sports (soccer) fishing, travel , world politics, global events and cultures.
