Jaya is currently working as Policy Officer Aged Care with the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria - a peak advocacy organisation for migrants and refugees in Victoria. She is qualified with a Masters Degree in International and Community Development from Deakin University.
Jaya has been working in the community sector in a paid and volunteer capacity for the last fifteen years, primarily in the multicultural, aged care and Neighbourhood House program areas.
Jaya is passionate about reducing inequality and hopes to work in the area of poverty reduction in developing countries, hence the reason for joining the Asialink program. Her other interests include - listening and playing South Indian classical music; taking long walks and yoga; reading and cooking.
