Tony began his working career in 1976 joining the Victoria Police Force Cadet system. After two years of schooling at the Police Cadet Academy he then transferred to the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley for his final 5 months training before his grasduation in May 1978. After graduating Tony was sent to the Brighton Police station as a Probationary Constable. Finishing his 3 month probationary period, Tony then spent time in various arms of the force. These included Independent Patrol Group, Dealers Squad, Fingerprint Bureau, Criminal Records Bureau, Oakleigh, Clayton, Springvale and Russell Street police stations.
In 1979, Tony was transferred to the plain-clothes division of the Victoria Dock police station. This involved policing criminal activity on all of the waterfront areas of the Port of Melbourne. Further responsibilities included the intelligence gathering on organisations such as the Waterside Workers Federation (WWF) and the Painters and Dockers Union. In 1981, Tony was selected from a large number of applicants for a vacancy within the highly secretive Bureau of Criminal Intelligence (BCI), Surveillance Unit. For the next 8 years Tony worked undercover on some of Australia's most vicious and violent criminals. During his 8 years with the BCI, Tony had the opportunity to work with their Technical, Tactical and Analytical sections. In 1988, Tony resigned from the Victoria Police after 12 years of service.
Leaving Australia in 1988, Tony decided to explore South East Asia. After having travelled to Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore Tony found himself in Thailand and was offered the position of General Manager of the Diamond Beach Resort in Ko Samet. After four years in this position Tony felt it was time to travel again. From 1992 to 1994, Tony worked and lived in the following countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China and Hong Kong. During this time Tony worked in film and television and the modelling industries. Tony returned to Australia in late 1994.
In 1994, Tony commenced work for Staff and Executive Services as their Executive Manager Business Development. During this time Tony negotiated a preferred supplier agreement with Crown Casino and continued to Key Manage this account until the sale of this business in 2002.
In 1995, Tony attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), winter school where he was instructed in Acting, Improvisation, Script and Shakespeare. After graduating from the winter school, Tony appeared in a number of television shows, television commercials and in feature film. Tony was lucky to work with some of Australia's foremost Actors including Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush.
In 2000 at a chance meeting with the Head of China Film and Television in Melbourne, Tony was introduced to the Mayor of Tangshan, China, Mr. Zhang He. In 2000, Tony was officially invited by the Tangshan Municipal Government to visit Tangshan, China and in 2001 Tony was given the honorary title of Ambassador, Business Relations between Tangshan and Melbourne. Since that time Tony has hosted numerous delegations to and from China. These delegations comprise of the corporate sector and discussions take place in relation to sole and joint ventures and cultural exchange between the two countries.
In 2002, Tony was offered the position of General Manager of Chaps International menswear. Tony was involved in the day to day running of this successful upmarket menswear group which included a wholesale division running from Covent Garden, London. In 2005, the owner of Chaps International decided to close the business and return to his country of birth, Mauritius.
June 2005, Tony joined Hosking Financial Group where he is currently employed. Tony is a Justice of the Peace in Victoria and is married with no children.
