Originally from Shanghai China, Jian (Chris) Wen now works at the International Students Centre of the NSW Department of Education and Training. He obtained his first degree - LLB (Civil Law) in Shanghai and holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of New South Wales. As a student, Chris published several journal articles in both Australia and China.
Prior to joining the NSW Department of Education and Training, Chris worked for a Korean franchise development company in its Shanghai office, helping the company set up its China office and advised the company on the franchise business operations in China. Chris lived in different parts of China before settling in Australia and had intensive travel experience across greater China region. On his current position, he is also required to travel regularly to Greater China region to attend marketing events and maintain relationships with agents.
Chris is a NAATI accredited Professional Chinese Translator and is listed on the panel of translators with the Community Relations Commission for a multicultural NSW, a main NSW government agency which provides translation service. He is also an active UNSW Law alumnus. Through his liaison and coordination, a China Law Alumni Chapter was recently established.
