Christina Parasyn has interest in and experience working with communities locally and globally and brings to the 2006 Asialink group her intercultural knowledge, skills and experience from Australia, Maldives, Fiji, India and PNG as well as her rich Ukrainian cultural heritage.

Christina has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) degree from the University of Sydney and a Master of Social Science (International Development) degree from RMIT University, Melbourne. Her experience and interests are in the areas of: health and disability; community development and participation; education and training; project development, implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation; and capacity building.

Christina was an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development in Fiji and Maldives and in 2004 was the recipient of the Tom Harvey Award for Citizenship awarded by the Australian Youth Trust in recognition of her work in community development in Australia and the Commonwealth.

In 2006 Christina will begin her post as a Program Officer with AusAID.
