Jason Collins
Mr Jason Collins
Managing Director
MATRIX Corporate Marketing Pty Ltd
Jason's interest in Asia-Pacific began at primary school age, attending international schools in Thailand and Indonesia, and travelling extensively ever since.
During and after university studies, Jason served as an advisor to senior state parliamentarians, and as an elected party official, before founding a public affairs agency heavily focused on international trade and investment issues.
In these capacities, Jason has participating in many delegation programmes aimed at fostering stronger trade and investment relations with China, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand.
He is particularly interested in the transformation of public policy and institutions in the region, reflecting fundamental changes underway in relation to political culture, leadership, party structures and the media.
Australia's relationship with individual states in the region, and our effective engagement with, and membership of, key regional forums will underpin our ongoing political, security, and economic interests in Asia.
Maintaining and expanding these relationships requires leadership that is both informed and appreciative of the political and social context, to skilfully manage the opportunities and challenges that will inevitably arise from the rapid changes underway in the region.
