Robert Taylor-Pyke is currently the Investment Manager - North America, at Invest Australia, the Australian Government's inward investment agency.
Rob's works currently involves marketing Australia as an investment destination to US and Canadian companies, through trade shows, trade missions, marketing strategies and bilateral partnerships. In a previous role at Invest Australia, Rob worked with major Asian companies in the manufacturing and services sector to invest in Australia.
Rob's work has enabled him to strengthen his interest in developing partnerships between the business, community and government sectors. Currently focusing on North America, Rob is developing a strategy that enables Australia to be marketed to North America as an expert knowledge base when doing business in Asia. This combines Rob's interest in Asia, trade and international affairs.
Rob grew up in Hobart, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After 18 months travelling around Europe, Africa and Asia he returned to Australia and completed a MBA specialising in International Business at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne in 1998. He then moved to Canberra to join the Department of Defence's graduate business program in the Defence Material Organisation.
