Are Australians prepared for the Asian Century?
MELBOURNE, 28 July, 2011 - In this video Professor Anthony Milner gives his assessment of the ‘Asia’ history dimensions of Australia’s recently formulated National Curriculum.
‘With a history curriculum we’re creating an Australian attitude, an Australian frame of mind for the next generation – so we’ve got to get this right,” he said.
Professor Milner is Basham Professor of Asian History, Australian National University, and Asialink’s International Director.
The video is an introduction to his address for the New South Wales History Teachers Association State Conference at the University of Sydney, delivered on 22 July, 2011.
