Poet Jennifer Mackenzie at the Asialink Winter Writing Series
In this video Jennifer Mackenzie reads as part of Six Poets Speak Softly, the first event in the Asialink Winter Writing Series 2010.
Jennifer Mackenzie has had a long-term fascination with historical Asia. She first visited the enigmatic 9th-century Buddhist monument Borobudur in 1975 and has since travelled to Java on various scholarships and bequests to research and write. The resulting book of poetry Borobudur was published in 2009 by Transit Lounge, and has been presented at the Melbourne and Ubud Writers' Festivals, where she read at Borobudur itself.
